The Innobasque agency is behind the development of the “Annual Innovation Report”, which measures investment in innovation in the Basque Country and its impact on economic growth and productivity.
The study will include an estimation of the state of social innovation, which is being prepared by Sinnergiak Social Innovation. The “Annual Innovation Report” is scheduled to be presented during the first quarter of 2013.
To write this report, Innobasque has signed a collaboration agreement with the British innovation agency NESTA, so that it can apply the ground-breaking methods that the British organisation used in its report on the state of innovation. These methods include innovations such as measuring actual investments by Basque companies in innovation, taking so-called intangibles (design, organisational improvements, training, software, marketing, advertising, etc.) into account and calculating what contribution these investments have made to economic growth, on a sector-by-sector basis.
Unlike the British report, which includes the contribution by science, technology, companies and the public sector, the Basque study will also include an estimation of the state of social innovation, which is being prepared by Sinnergiak.
