The future of European Workplace Innovation Network (EUWIN)

Towards a Position Paper on Workplace Innovation in Europe

In 2012 the European Commission announced the creation of a new networking initiative to promote and develop workplace innovation Europe. This followed a campaign by stakeholders from across Europe, including publication of the Dortmund-Brussels Declaration, to ensure that workplace innovation was recognised by EU policymakers as an important contributor to Europe 2020 goals.

The European Workplace Innovation Network (EUWIN), jointly led by TNO and Workplace Innovation Limited, received financial support from 2013 to the end of 2016. Its achievements are many, and we have worked with our partners in several countries to help stimulate awareness and build capacity for resourcing workplace innovation. EUWIN’s Knowledge Bank has become a major resource for practitioners and researchers alike, and we continue to share articles, case studies and practical tools with thousands of followers through regular Bulletins and via social media.

Financial support from the European Commission has come to an end, but the effort to promote workplace innovation continues. The network developed over the past years will continue to sustain EUWIN, because people remain passionately committed to its cause.

At the same time, this new phase requires us also to rethink the current state-of-the-art of workplace innovation in Europe. A lot has been achieved, but even more remains to be done. It is time to revisit the Dortmund-Brussels Declaration, and we will shortly produce a new Position Paper that will express our shared aspirations for the future of workplace innovation in Europe. Our aim is to stimulate fresh dialogue with the European Commission and other stakeholders, helping to build a shared vision.
