Description of the Session:
The participation of workers in the management of change in companies covers different systems and mechanisms, through collective negotiation, information and consultations or codetermination.
As a result, it is essential to reflect on the current framework and to guide the search towards regulatory models that favour and facilitate the process for companies to adapt to our social and economic reality, enabling the adoption of innovative solutions based on social dialogue.

Tomas Arrieta
Tomas Arrieta has developed his career as civil servant and lawyer focusing on Labour and Social Security Law. After joining as lawyer to the Social Security Administration, he work as chief of the Provincial Social Security Legal Advice of Alava, and later as a legal advisor of companies and Public Administration on labour law. Actually he is the Chair of the Council for Labour Relations in the Basque Autonomous Community, a body composed by major trade union and company associations, which develops and supports in a permanent way negotiation and conflict resolution on labour issues, as well as the analysis and study of the Basque Country social and labour reality. Tomas Arrieta has been professor of labour relations and collective bargaining at the University of Deusto, where at the present conducts modules on collective negotiation and labour relations at Deusto Business School´s Human Resources Master and the European International Business Management Master (EIMB).

Juan Pablo Landa
Juan Pablo is the Director of Business Law and Social Security Department at the University of the Basque Country. He has developed different research stages at Bordeaux University, Paris I Sorbonne, Bologna, LSE at London University and, NYSSILR at Cornell University. His research career is focused on public employment, enterprise re-structuration trade unions, employment policies and European social law among others. Juan Pablo is member of the Labour Law Research Network.
