Prizes and competitions are one of the most popular methods of financing and disseminating innovation initiatives and projects. They have been used as support mechanism to uncover hidden innovations and capitalise on their problem-solving abilities. Thus, prizes, awards and competitions are remarkable tools for enhancing innovation ecosystems and social innovation.
