What is Public Innovation?

Public innovation is associated to the creation of public value in different area of the public policies, services, infraestructures and public management ((Moore, 1995: Torfing, 2016).

 

It is neccesary to distinguish between public innovation as innovation of politics and the public policy as innovation in the public administration. The first one is referred to the innovation in the processes and forms of representation and political decision making; the second one, is related to the forms of management and the provision of services of the public administrations  from its role of actor, provider of economic, political and social resources and responsible for the design of new public policies.
